Questions people ask before they call

If yours isn't here, send it with the contact form or call.

What does it cost to hire you?

We work on a contingency basis: our fee is a share of what we recover, and it is written in your fee agreement before you sign. If there is no recovery, you owe no attorney fees. Case costs, such as filing fees, records and expert fees, are separate; your fee agreement says whether you owe them when there is none.

Who speaks Spanish at the firm?

Nydia and Emiliano do, in meetings, on the phone and in writing. Edmund works in English and Hmong; when he is on your case, one of them is in the room too.

I'm not a citizen. Can I still make a claim?

In most injury cases, your immigration status doesn't decide whether you can bring a claim. We'll talk about your situation privately and honestly, and we don't report anyone.

How long will this take?

It depends on how long you need to heal and how the insurer responds. Many claims take months, and some take longer. We won't rush you into a number while you are still getting better.

Should I talk to the other driver's insurance?

You can say who you are and that you're getting care, and send the rest to us. Our guide on recorded statements explains why.

What if I don't have health insurance?

You can still get care and still bring a claim. Some providers will wait to be paid from a recovery; we'll go over the options with you.

What is a filing deadline?

It is the last day to start a lawsuit. It varies by the kind of claim and who is responsible, and some are short. Tell us early, and we will tell you the date.

How much is my case worth?

We can't say on a first call, and anyone who does is guessing. Once your doctors know how you're recovering, we can talk about a range.

A question we didn't answer?

Ask us directly. A lawyer or staff member will answer in English or Spanish.
